Casa Porche
I: Did Mies return?
PDFC: We do not know…critics must decide. However, we determined to connect the outside with the inside by means of a curious thermal bridge break system that gives real continuity to the concrete and hides carpentry.
The house is designed for the use and enjoyment of the plot as a whole, taking the programme to its limits. The plot is a rectangle located at the bottom of a ‘cul-de-sac’. The access is on a corner, between the volume of housing and an auxiliary pavilion. The flight of slab of the pavilion protects the entrance. Inside, the house is divided into a living area and a sleeping area. The living area is a glazed porch, where light comes in, creating a changing relationship between outside and inside. The sleeping area guarantees the necessary privacy.
