Project Year: 2016
Project Area: 36,000 sq ft
The Global Headquarters of Paperless Post are located in New York City.
Located in the historical twin gothic towers that compose Trinity Centre located in the vibrant and ever changing Financial District.
The new space will house 250 employees. Having mainly northern light to work
with we selected a bright pallet including natural ash wood, the company’s pallet of black and white plus brushed brass accents
in light fixtures and hardware elements to accomplish a strong interior space. We allocated resources to where they were most
needed, including a welcoming lobby/lounge space that portrays the company’s graphic mastery into architectural elements using
ash wood louvered panels and glass as the main characters.
Complemented by open work areas with exposed ceilings showing the memory of previous MEPs; all mechanical, electrical and
plumbing installations are fully displayed along with the scars of previous tenants. The workspace is accompanied by a 1,600 sq ft
canteen space that simultaneously serves as a dynamic event space. It also includes several small to large conference spaces,
a library and substantial storage space for the company’s main products. Client wanted a space that would be familiar to people
but with a certain uniqueness to it as well. Custom-made workstations in ash wood include cable management areas to achieve
functionality and aesthetics into one piece. The result is a space with a strong character; using bold, clean and simple elements
intertwined to portray the company’s leading elegant image.

+ADD is a New York City based Architecture firm whose work includes Architectural and Interior Design, furniture and fixture design as well as consulting for industry. Everything we undertake is postulated on the understanding of the built environment as a physical and cultural landscape with tangible and social repercussions. Our approach is to place materials and methods of construction above formal assumptions, as we work our way through each project in response to aspects of place, time, function, and client goals. For each set of circumstances, we strive to identify and employ the appropriate crafts and technologies, through ongoing investigation and innovation. We are committed to research through our built work, which provides a three dimensional laboratory which cannot be represented through other modes of practice. In this context, tangible decisions are given priority over design theory, ensuring that physical experience supersedes the ideas that form it. It is our conviction that good design should be forceful but not imposing, it should both structure and improve our lives. Good design should possess internal diligence and efficiency, but must also transcend that structure to enrich human experience. We achieve good design by understanding our clients’ needs, understanding construction and fabrication, and paying attention to details to discover new approaches toward design.
Established in 2010 by Laura González Fierro who received her Architecture Degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City in 2002 and a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University GSAPP in 2008. She collaborated with several architectural firms in Mexico City, Paris and New York, where she gained experience in design and coordination of larger and more complex projects. In order to keep an ongoing research she created LED [Long Distance Experimental Lab]. A laboratory that runs parallel to the practice, with a genesis of the realization that solutions can be found across disciplines, places, people and time; creating a nexus of sources connected by communication technology. Its goal is to expand Architecture’s possibilities and to propose novel solutions to its problems. Laura Gonzalez Fierro is a Registered Architect in the State of New York and a member of the American Institute of Architects.
